Stay tuned! After several moves and shakes I’ll be updating this blog over the next few days.
Andrea Mitchell, of MSNBC, poked fun at Sarah Palin today by writing notes on her own hand on air, but she also made some very good points about how the media treats Palin differently than other Presidental hopefuls.
“But this after coming out and saying that “you need more than a charismatic guy with a teleprompter”. So she takes all these snarky shots at Barack Obama.”
“…Undermined it a bit, yeah.”
“If Mitt Romney had notes on his hand wouldn’t we take it pretty seriously?”
“It..it is…she does sort of get played…she has different rules.”
“Different rules for different folks.”
Well call it what you will: “Palin’s Handprompter”…”Telepalmter”….or even “Handgate”, the news that former Gov. Sarah Palin used crib notes to discuss her policy beliefs at the recent Tea Party Convention is buzzing through mainstream news outlets.
The “Handgate” story has nearly 7,000 comments on the Huffington Post and, at last count, was discussed by CNN’s Don Lemon, MSNBC’s David Shuster, Contessa Brewer and Andrea Mitchell.
Don Lemon discusses Palin’s crib notes on CNN:
As I originally reported on the Huffington Post. Sarah Palin had the following notes written on her hand during a Tea Party Convention speech in which she mocked President Obama for his use of a teleprompter:
Lift American Spirits
The notes most likely weren’t for her speech, for which she used prepared remarks, but for the Q&A session that followed, during which she glanced at the hand in question.
Apparently this presidential contender can’t remember her core principles and needs a cheat-sheet. Good grief.
I don’t get paid to blog. Licensing the high-res photo that broke this story alone cost me $75.00 of my own money. If you liked this story, please consider buying me a cup of coffee via the Donate button on the right. Thanks very much.
